Growing out of a piece of deadwood that recent river-action has exposed probably isn’t going to be enough.
There are several areas of high-ground, and the trees clustered in those areas are probably safe enough, if they don’t get crowded out.
As often as not, when one looks up, one sees through the branches of trees. Some views are pleasant, like these:
Others not so much, especially the older oaks that have been tortured and become ugly. The tree will survive, but the branches will be broken by the winds and eventually fall:
Some of beauty is subtle, particularly at this time of year, but it is worth seeing:
