Pensive Sage

 

Here we see Sage watching Ginger watching Duffy.  Ginger is the playful one.  Her desire to play with other dogs was part of the reason I got Sage, and while Sage does play a bit in her own intense semi-violent way, she does not love play as much as Duffy does, and Ginger knows it – and so does Sage.

More and more Duffy is walking up next to Ginger while Sage is follows behind

Or walks off to the side.

Sage grew up knowing only Ginger as a companion.  She is warming to Duffy only slowly.  Since Ginger is the oldest and will most probably be passing away the soonest, I wonder how Sage will manage with just Duffy.
