It rained earlier and was supposed to rain some more. I decided to go to a part of the river that we don’t normally visit, a part where nothing much grows in the river itself. Also, it was easier to walk on the hard-packed river service road than muck about in the still-wet sand. Duffy had been here before, but this was his first time off leash, and he loved it.
There are trees and brush between the river and a dairy. The girls like to make little forays down there, but when I saw Ginger leading Duffy toward the dairy, I was alarmed and yelled “not too far.” Duffy immediately turned around and came back to me.
But Ginger exercised her right as senior dog and walked amongst the trees for a bit.
