We both know that each sides of the aisle have spun the Ayers thing to their liking -- including Hillary when she was still in the running. Ayers was born in 1944, Obama was 6 or 7 when Ayers was in his cultural rebellion mode, and there's a six degrees of separation thing in play. My concern re. Zardari is that I find it disturbing that someone who has a significant enough history of mental illness that they are declared too incompetent to stand trial in a court of law is suddenly in charge of a country in the eye of a volatile situation.
Lawrence responds,
No, no, no, Polly. Not Six degrees. Not that much separation. Obama’s career was launched in Ayers home. They are buds – unless Obama has recently renounced him the way he did the Reverend Wright. http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D92PL7400&show_article=1 He did denounce Ayers’ Weather Underground acts, but apparently Ayers didn’t – he wished he had bombed more. And Obama still occasionally exchanges ideas with Ayers – according to Obama’s words.
Obama has launched a counter attack against the posters of an add describing the Obama-Ayers relationship.
"The fact that Barack Obama chose to launch his political career at the home of an unrepentant terrorist raises more questions about Senator Obama's judgment than any TV ad ever could," said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.
By the way, here is the ad Obama is trying to get quashed: http://www.americanissuesproject.org/
